Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) for Cardiac Radionuclide Imaging 4

Publisher Description

This free application will help guide you through the process of determining whether cardiac radionuclide imaging (RNI) is appropriate for your patient, based on the 2009 Appropriate Use Criteria, a report of the American College of Cardiology Foundation Appropriate Use Criteria Task Force, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the American College of Radiology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography, the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, and the Society of Nuclear Medicine. By entering information about your patient, you will see on a scale of 1-9 if the patient indication is appropriate (7-9), uncertain (4-6), or inappropriate (1-3) for RNI, per the criteria. Some of the questions that may be asked with regard to your patient include: - Is the patient within 3 months of acute coronary syndrome (ACS)? - Has the patient undergone prior revascularization? - Has the patient undergone prior imaging? - Does the patient have ischemic-equivalent symptoms? This application was developed using the guidance for AUC described in Hendel RC, et al. J Am Coll Cardiol. 53:2201-2229. Repurposed by permission from Elsevier Inc.
